CARRIED<\/li>\n<li>Adopt Minutes 12 September 2014 as amended. CARRIED<\/li>\n<li>Welcome new member Jonathan Spence as new Chief Steward and swearing of Oath of Office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>President\u2019s Report: Naomi Robinson<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Branch meeting update<\/li>\n<li>BEC vote on LEC Motion Sept 12 received unanimous support for SRC.<\/li>\n<li>CBC wide movement (Nov 19 meeting) Fade to Black campaign #stronger together \u2013 guild campaign to get to trend nationally<\/li>\n<li>Discussion re location funding and cost of releases and future shortfalls<\/li>\n<li>CBC trust fund for training purposes has been approved by BEC\/CBC Management using JE monies remaining from 2006. Discussion tabled to after lunch.<\/li>\n<li>On-going issues with Maintenance tech career structure. Jordanna suggested a stamp. Maureen asked for stress leave cards.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Health and Safety &#8211; Glen Guerin: absent<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mobilisaton and Education: Maureen: Breakfast for Newsroom personnel end of Oct. postponed due to cost factor suggest we wait for Christmas brunch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Next mobilisation table date for Nov 13. To co-ordinate with New Members event<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>SRC: Claryse Boulineau update on shutting down of SRC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussion in Camera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Chief Stewards report:<\/p>\n<p>a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jonathan Spence \u2013 Temp committee meeting next week.\u00a0 Workload committee being formed. At Joint feeling was it is definitely worthwhile for 4<sup>th<\/sup> floor News employees. Discussion on workload issues. Jonathan, Kam and Kim all volunteered to launch workload committee and set up potential survey for employees.<\/p>\n<p>b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rob Barlow update of member issues.<\/p>\n<p>c)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tony Germin: Members workload issues<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CMG PRESIDENT CARMEL SMYTH ADDRESSED THE COMMITTEE<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Business carried over from last meeting:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Tony Germin SRC follow up we. Matter is at National Grievance now. Resolution of the SRC Committee Tony to find local joint Minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>MOTION<\/b> moved by Maureen Brosnahan:<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Be it resolved that the Toronto LEC\/CMG of the CBC send a letter to Rob Renaud containing the resolution passed at the LEC meeting in September 2014 demanding that the SRC Committee be resinstated.<\/i><\/b> (to be written and delivered by Secretary) Seconded Tony Germin CARRIED by 10 with one abstention and none against.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussion about Motion and Flyers for French. Tony Germin requested printing money.<\/li>\n<li>Tony requested Lunch and Learns for French with a pizza budget.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>MOTION<\/b> BY Naomi Robinson <b><i>Be it resolved<\/i><\/b><i> <b>that the LEC allocate up to $400 to be used to for mobilization in the SRC department.<\/b><\/i> Seconded Kim Taylor-Galway. CARRIED with one abstention.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>MOTION<\/b>: Jordanna Lake <b><i>\u201cBe it resolved that forthwith the LEC \/CMG agrees to provide only one drink per Member at this year\u2019s Holiday Party plus appetisers\u201d.<\/i><\/b> Seconded Maureen Brosnahan.<\/p>\n<p>Discussion. Maureen Brosnahan takes chair. Chair returned to Naomi Robinson.<\/p>\n<p>Maureen Brosnahan reminded committee that 2 releases are required for the breakfast and breakfast costs also comes out of Holiday Party budget.<\/p>\n<p>CARRIED: 6 in Favour 3 Opposed 1 abstention.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>New Business: Mobilisaton Strategies Kam Rao proposed Monthly Calendar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>MOTION Kam Rao :<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b><i>Be it resolved that we send the following letter to the BEC:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201dThe Toronto LEC would like to express its strong displeasure with the way in which the arrangement for money for Job Evaluation at the CBC and the liability regarding the CMG\u2019s education wage replacements has been decided and allocated.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>There has been too little information shared with the local regarding this initiative prior to a decision being made on this matter.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Given that the BEC motion is now passed we want to outline out concerns moving forward.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>We would like to have the CBC Location Units be the key decision making bodies on setting the terms of reference with regard to these funds and the implementation of any related plans going forward.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>We would also like all information pertaining to the arrangement to now be distributed to the Location Executives prior to further decisions being made on the orientation, focus and specific commitments of the fund.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>SECONDED: Jonathan Spence.<\/p>\n<p>Discussion.<\/p>\n<p>VOTE: 8 FOR 3 ABSTENTIONS<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Robert Barlow has left the meeting<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>New Business: Jonathan Spence raised issue with non program jobs moving to Montreal Do we have jurisdiction in Quebec. Why aren\u2019t we being told anything? Naomi Robinson will bring it before the BEC on Nov 11.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MOTION Naomi Robinson <b>That the LEC agreed to cover wage replacement costs for three people to do another day of Map the Floor.
