{"id":3701,"date":"2022-04-10T15:16:16","date_gmt":"2022-04-10T15:16:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cmg.ca\/toronto\/cbc\/?p=3701"},"modified":"2022-04-10T15:16:16","modified_gmt":"2022-04-10T15:16:16","slug":"cbc-toronto-location-executive-committee-meeting-minutes-tuesday-jan-11-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmg.ca\/toronto\/cbc\/cbc-toronto-location-executive-committee-meeting-minutes-tuesday-jan-11-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"CBC TORONTO LOCATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES \u2014 Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LEC Meeting Minutes &#8211; Tuesday, January 11, 2022<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><b>Attending<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Vish, Naomi, Olena, Lyne-Fran\u00e7oise, Jann, Krista, Matt, Kat.<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Partial<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; Wendy, David.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Adoption of agenda &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">add Election Committee to agenda (Olena) &#8211; Naomi moves, Lyne seconds, passes unanimously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Adoption of past minutes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Nov. 17, 2021 &#8211; Krista moves, Kat seconds, passed unanimously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meeting starts at 10:20 with Quorum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joining us after lunch (Vish to reconfirm):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CMG CBC Branch president Kim Trynacity @ 1 pm<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto Temp committee co-chair Nair Apkarian attends @ 1:30 pm<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ongoing Business<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Local Vaccine Mandate Grievances<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several CMG Members submitted grievances against the vaccine mandate to the Local Grievance Committee..<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Local Joint Committee will be discussing the use of rapid tests and tracking\/reporting cases now that more people are coming into the building.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LEC Dates<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upcoming LEC meeting dates have been changed to Thursdays to allow for one of our members to attend due to a conflict.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New Business<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Election Committee\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discussion held in camera.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Motion that The LEC appoints Harmen Meinders and Sarah Robinson to the election committee: Naomi moves, Lyne seconds, passed unanimously.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto and York Labour Council<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Toronto and York Labour Council has openings on many of their councils that are open to LEC members.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Releases<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some release requests have not been getting to the managers that need to approve them in a timely manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vish will touch base with the NEC to ask if there is a process that can be developed that will make it easier for the releases to be submitted and approved on time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LEC members to pre-emptively let managers know the dates they will need. They will follow-up with managers about approvals.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New Covid Protocols<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some CMG members are being asked to work overtime, double shifts, on their days off, or cannot use their AL without being able to roll this time over.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Members who cannot use their AL should get in touch with a steward or staff rep.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Naomi and Vish will bring these issues to the LJC meeting.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Member Engagement<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was decided to put some money into the budget for member engagement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Member engagement will be discussed in March when reintegration plans and what is happening with the pandemic will be better known.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Budget 2022<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matt provided a draft 2022 budget document.
