The mousepads were a hit!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2200 members in Toronto, so even if a quarter of the employees showed up, we gave away 600 cookies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat mentions the importance\/benefit of walking the floor during the event. Not effective to have 11 LEC members at the table, for the whole time.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discussion about getting a stand-up banner &#8211; for CMG\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annie mentions the need for a system to know which parts of the floor have been walked, and members have been talked to.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lara suggests that the Excel doc is specific about which floors people will be walking.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Ice Cream day, Kat suggests that everyone walk the floor at the same time &#8211; for the two hours.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annie suggests setting up a Whatsapp or Signal group.. To communicate where people are walking in the building.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>MOTION:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> LEC agrees to spend up to $400.00 for a stand up \u2018CMG Toronto\u2019, branded banner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arman moves, Sarah seconds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passes unanimously<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">* Lara will look into prices at Print 3 \/ Cavan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">* Lara will follow up with Cavan about a receipt for the mousepads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>OFFICE CLEANING:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andrew suggests we declutter the office. Possibly get some shelving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall interest and agreement that it would be beneficial to throw out some of the old, and see what we have in the office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lorne &amp; Andrew will take a release day to clean the office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WFH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> DISCUSSION<\/strong> &#8211; and how it is changing the CBC culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat expresses qualms about taking a stand around being in the office, versus WFH.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possibly a campaign such as \u201cWe welcome you back\u201d ..\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arman mentions that the number of teams that have the WFH flex, is decreasing, and it\u2019s tightening up.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat mentions that the digital team remains 3 days WFH.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat raises the value of \u2018Mapping the Floor\u2019 &#8211; having a better handle of where people are working in the building, and where the Union support is situated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lara feels there is value in this, and perhaps we start with an area that we know well.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arman is interested in leading this project.. But he would need to be released, and that is problematic without some lead time. But September releases would be doable.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Potential for other members being released, and walking\/working on this with Arman.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>MOTION:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To look ahead to starting this project in September, and allocate release days for Arman to lead this project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annie moves. Andrew seconds it. Passes unanimously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lara wonders whether they may be an existing departmental map of the building?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat will check it out at the next Branch meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat says this project could be a great chance for people to sign their CMG cards. Booked the Ice Cream man.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat is working through the \u2018multiple channels\u2019 for IR approval, for time to work through the red tape.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andrew will put through the LEC releases for June 13th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>STEWARDS TRAINING UPDATE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">July 11th has been selected for the next training.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communication will be sent out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As some people may not be available in July, the hope is to have another training in September.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(website\/social media\/LEC calendar\/comms committee)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andrew will coordinate with each LEC member about content for the CMG Toronto website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arman mentions confusion for temps around upcoming work, and so called guarantees for shifts. It\u2019s tough to have to say to people that management has lied to you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat notes that there should be accountability around this .. and holding managers accountable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reminders about the LEC calendar &#8211; and how the more stuff we put in there..<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>New Business<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vacant LEC Director position &#8211; Director of Human Rights, Equity and Diversity<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nomination period expired last night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acclaim <em>Myriam Eddahia<\/em> into this role.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat mentions that there is a lot of opportunity, and potential with this position. It affects everyone. All members. Kat notes that for someone coming in with great energy and motivation to tackle injustice, it\u2019s great to have this new energy. An opportunity to have someone tip their toe in for the rest of the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MOTION: To accept her nomination form, and accept her into the position.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annie moves, David seconds. Passes unanimously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>NEXT THREE MONTHS!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kat mentions that the President\u2019s Council is coming up.
