Update: Annual Toronto BBQ postponed/Lacroix announcement
•  Posted on  June 25, 2014

Dear Members,

Once again we are banding together to hear yet another round of difficult news.

CBC President Hubert Lacroix will hold another Town Hall meeting, Thurs June 26th at 12 noon. He is expected to announce more in cuts to the already beleaguered CBC  budget

As fate would have it, the annual Toronto CMG barbeque was scheduled for the sametime. For obvious reasons we are going to postpone it until September.

Following the Town Hall, CMG representatives from the local and national levels will be available to speak with you from 2:00 – 5:30 in Room 1B315. That’s in the conference centre on the first floor, beside the burgundy elevators.

We are keen to hear what you think about the announcement and what issues you see as priorities. We will try to answer questions based on what we know at this time. But input from you helps us gather valuable information. We can then share it with those at the National Level and use it to try to minimize the impact on CMG members here at CBC. It also helps the CMG refine our ongoing campaign to make our concerns and the vulnerability of CBC known to politicians AND voters across the country.

This is a time of uncertainty; it’s difficult to stay motivated when so many of us are directly affected. But you are not alone and we are here to help.

If you can’t attend on Thursday, we still want to hear from you. Please contact us or email us with your concerns.

It is in times of crisis that we prove our mettle, our strength, our solidarity. Help us stand together, ready to fight for the CBC and for our CMG members. Let’s make our voices heard.
