As a union steward in Toronto, I know how important it is to connect with our members and demonstrate our commitment to them as they navigate difficult, precarious working conditions in today’s media’s environment. As the Director of New Members and Precarious Workers for the Toronto Local Executive Committee, I have spent years building connections with temporary and permanent employees, and pushing CBC’s leadership to prioritize precarious workers by helping develop the Temp On-boarding sessions. These workshops have been delivered virtually to workers across the country to connect them with CMG and help them navigate their workplace. I would be thrilled to apply these skills as a CWA delegate and build stronger connections with workers across our union, so we can learn how to better serve our members across the board.
