Privatisation du service des nouvelles et des actualités à CBC ?
Ajoutez votre nom à celui des 40 qui ont signé la pétition appuyant l’unité documentaire. En éliminant les documentaires faits à l’interne, CBC est sur le point de faire le premier pas vers ce qui revient à la privatisation du service des nouvelles et des actualités à CBC. Nous demandons à CBC de protéger la tradition du long récit journalistique approfondi en permettant à cette unité de survivre au sein du service des nouvelles et des actualités.

Nous soussignés, journalistes à CBC, sommes alarmés par le déclin rapide des documentaires dans la programmation de CBC-TV, déclin qui ne s’explique pas uniquement par des raisons d’ordre financier, mais aussi par des priorités de programmation qui datent de nombreuses années.
Et voilà qu’il est à présent question de fermer l’unité de production interne de longs métrages documentaires, dont la division qui a produit, entre autres, The People’s History of Canada, The Canadian Experience et Eighth Fire, ainsi que des documentaires d’actualité « à chaud » tel le documentaire primé Syria: Behind Rebel Lines.
Or, afin de s’acquitter de son mandat fondamental, CBC Television devrait au contraire produire davantage de longs récits journalistiques et d’émissions phares. Lire le texte intégral ici.
