After more than two years of negotiations, a strike and lockout, bargainers for Maritime Broadcasting System (MBS) Limited and the Canadian Media Guild (CMG) have come to terms on a new four year collective agreement for employees in Saint John New Brunswick.
It is a first agreement between the parties and was achieved with the assistance of Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services.
The deal includes language on job security, scheduling as well as provisions for dealing with dispute resolution. It also includes signing bonus and new wage scales. The parties hope this marks the beginnings of an “orderly and harmonious relationship” between the parties.
Under the terms employees will be back on the job as of June 16, 2014.
