I am Julie-Anne, your Canadian Media Guild staff representative. I am inviting you all to volunteer in Zoomer’s upcoming pay equity committee.
As a federally regulated employer, Zoomer is required by Federal legislation to implement a pay equity plan to close systemic pay gaps.
Pay equity is a fundamental human right. Despite some progress, in many workplaces, women continue to be paid less than men for equivalent work. The union needs you to volunteer for the pay equity committee that will start meeting later in the summer.
Although the terms of the committee are still to be defined, it must include both managers, employees, and union representation.
The workload should be minimal, (we need your expertise mostly) and would be part of your paid work time.

Your perspectives are essential to ensuring the committee can do its work well. I’m always happy to hop on a call or virtual meeting to answer your questions.
