First contract talks with MBS: conciliator appointed

The federal labour minister has appointed Barney Dobbin as conciliator in the negotiations between the Canadian Media Guild and the Maritime Broadcasting System for a first collective agreement.

The CMG applied for conciliation in late January in an effort to kick-start meaningful discussions between the parties.

The conciliator’s mandate runs to April 9 and can be extended by mutual agreement.
