National Grievance Committee Communiqué for April 2016

The committee met the week of April 11th to discuss new and existing grievances.

There were 13 outstanding grievances of which 3 were settled, a process resolution for Leave Without Pay is going to be discussed with the CBC Senior Management Team at meetings planned for August.

There were 11 new grievances, 1 of which was returned to the local for resolution. The new grievances deal with Workforce Adjustment, with the ability of temporary employee to work outside of the CBC, CMG Jurisdiction, Discipline, Unfair Labour Practice and Security regarding Building Access.

The committee once again looked at the issue of mandatory medical absence reports and continues discussions to resolve this issue. In the meantime the union’s position remains firm as per our communiqué of Jan 30 2015.

The committee will meet again the week of June 13th, discussions on all issues will continue in the interim.
