Town Hall for CBC members: Shaping our union to reflect our diversity

Like employers, we need to address issues in our union to become more diverse and inclusive, and to fight systemic racism.

Join us for a special virtual town hall for CMG CBC/Radio-Canada members: Shaping our union to reflect our diversity, Wednesday, November 25, 8 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. EST.

All members are invited, and you will receive the Zoom meeting information next week.

There will be insight from the recent CMG Employment Equity survey, followed by a panel that will explore ways and limits to using our collective agreement to improve workplace diversity and inclusion, and exchange ideas on what we can do as a union to better reflect our membership and our communities.

Moderated by Kim Trynacity, CBC/Radio-Canada CMG Branch president, our panel includes Saïda Ouchaou-Ozarowski, Branch executive committee Diversity and Human Rights Director and CMG-CBC Co-chair for the Joint Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) committee; Debora Grant-Barkun, our new CMG Director of Human Rights and Equity; David Thurton, CBC journalist; Canadian Labour Congress Vice-President Larry Rousseau; and CMG lawyer, Michael Thorburn.

Submit your questions in advance to info@cmg.ca by noon, Tuesday, November 24. The panel will address questions submitted in advance first, and the remaining questions as time permits.

Kim Trynacity
CBC/Radio-Canada Branch President, Canadian Media Guild
