Guild leaders have chosen seven members from across the country to join the union’s CBC branch president Marc-Philippe Laurin and senior staff representative Dan Oldfield in negotiations with the Corporation. Negotiations are expected to get underway this fall, in advance of the expiry of the current agreement next March 31.
The committee was selected from among more than a dozen applicants who responded to the membership-wide call for applications based on criteria established by the branch executive and local Guild presidents. The members on the committee are:
Brendan Elliott, Charlottetown
Elaine Janes, Toronto
Annick Forest, Vancouver
Harry Mesh, Gander & Grand Falls
John O’Connor, Regina
Barbara Saxberg, Toronto
Chris Turner, Fredericton
Other members who put their names forward have agreed to serve on sub-committees if they are needed during negotations. The union would like to thank all members who put their names forward for this important job.
