I am seeking the opportunity to represent the Canadian Media Guild at the Communications Workers of America convention in Ottawa on April 24–25 with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. I have been working at CBC/Radio-Canada Ottawa-Gatineau for the past five years, where I have gained a solid understanding of the realities facing media workers in today’s rapidly evolving industry. Prior to that, I worked as a radio journalist for Bell Media in Rimouski for two years, an experience that gave me valuable insight into the unique challenges faced by members in regional markets.

I have been actively involved in union work for nearly four years. I currently serve as Secretary-Treasurer of the Ottawa local and previously held the position of Vice-President. In these roles, I have worked closely with members, advocated for their rights, and contributed to the responsible management of our local. These experiences have strengthened my leadership skills, my ability to listen and collaborate, and my commitment to transparent and accountable governance.

I have also attended two Canadian Media Guild conventions in Toronto, which gave me firsthand experience of the importance of these gatherings in shaping our priorities, building solidarity, and advancing meaningful change. I understand how crucial it is to ensure that members’ voices are clearly represented in broader discussions that affect our workplaces and our profession.

I am deeply committed to defending the interests of all members, promoting fairness and equity in the workplace, and supporting the vitality and recognition of the French language within our institutions. My professional experience, union involvement, and genuine dedication make me well prepared to represent our members with integrity, thoughtfulness, and determination.
