If 2026 has shown us anything, it’s that we need to pay attention to who we elect to lead us politically. 

I’ve had the privilege to represent CMG members from the CBC Branch at all levels of our union now over the past 20+ years…  

– Experience gained as a local president, VP, and chief steward in the CBC Toronto location unit has given me a wealth of connections to folks in every job classification we represent.  

– Linking experiences and solutions across the country, and supporting our local union leaders and their members has been the priority going into my second term as CBC Branch President; allowing me to build on the decade of experience I have at the national level of the CMG CBC Radio Canada Branch.

– I’m grateful for the support I’ve received as a delegate to 5 previous CWA Canada national conventions. 

– I’m proud to have been a delegate to our Newsguild sector, and parent union Communication Workers of America conventions in 2023, where leadership elections last took place at that level. 

I’ve seen how the sausage is made in our union… I think now I know what works in that recipe and what needs to be adjusted.  Please allow me to carry our voices to this arena, in the hopes that we can make improvements and build better unity among us.
