I am writing to express my strong interest in attending the CWA Local 30213 Workers of America Convention in Pittsburgh as a delegate from the (CMG). I believe my background & commitment, make me a strong candidate for this opportunity.
- Health & Safety Committee (CBC Transmission) – Offering a unique perspective
- Technology & Infrastructure – Inclusion & Engagement Committee (new member)
- “Inclusion Community of Practice”
With 13 years of experience at CBC-Radio Canada. I currently work as an Administrative Assistant in Transmission, and provide hybrid backfill for the Edmonton Studio in Scheduling & Timekeeping. Additionally, I recently graduated from the University of Alberta with “Honors with Distinction” for my Human Resources Certificate, and over 25 years in various forms of media.
CMG Members from the Health & Safety Committee (Technicians) support & encourage my attendance in Pittsburg. Summer is a busy season for our technicians due to Tower Maintenance, Inspections, and well-deserved holidays, I am confident I can accurately represent our region. It is valuable to have representation, from a “Transmission” employee(s) in Pittsburg as our job functions are related to broadcast infrastructure and scope of work differs vastly. The inclusion of member(s) of Transmission at the CWA, for proper representation is vital as we’re critical in CBC achieving their mandate of “coast to coast” through our remote transmitter sites. The physical infrastructure ensures a wide reach of the broadcast signal into homes of Canadians.
This convention offers a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, network with peers, deepening my understanding of our international union. I am eager to learn innovative approaches, perspectives, and share insights, reinforcing a sense of purpose & commitment.
Thank you for considering my letter of intent. I look forward to the possibility of participating in this important event.
