Hello, I’m Sangeeta Patel and I’m running for the position of Director – Human Rights and Equity of the Canadian Media Guild because I believe all members deserve to be heard at the National Executive Committee and all decisions made at the national level should support and uplift all CMG members.

An active and engaged union member since 2023, I work at the TVO Branch as a digital media producer. I am also serving as the current branch Secretary-Treasurer. I have worked on contract at TVO and as a temp worker at CBC, so I know well the stress of having an unpredictable schedule, the financial insecurity, and precarious or missing health benefits. Temps are often our most precarious and marginalized members. As the Director of Human Rights and Equity, I will ensure temp worker issues are heard and prioritized.

As a member of the CMG Workers United caucus, a grassroots group of CMG members across all branches and the country, I believe in building a collaborative and united CMG. One that educates and supports its members and is transparent in communications. We are better together.
