Update on Guild executive by-elections

At the close of nominations yesterday, two members were acclaimed to positions on Guild executives: Robert Ballantyne of CBC Toronto is the Director, New Members of the Guild’s National Executive Committee and Brice Hall is the new President of the Thomson Reuters Branch.

Nominations for the position of Vice-President for the Canadian Press branch will remain open until Tuesday, October 11.

An election will be held for the position of Director, Ontario on the CBC/Radio-Canada Branch Executive Council. The candidates are Michael Robert of Sudbury and Jack Vethaak of Windsor.

The election, which was originally scheduled for October 12-13, is being moved to a later date. A new call for nominations to fill additional vacancies is likely to be made shortly.
