This year marks the second pandemic celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day, and while we can’t celebrate Indigenous people and the many contributions to the wealth of the country in person, we can honour our Indigenous members and the work they do every day in our various workplaces across the country from sea to sea to sea.

This image was designed by Jocelyn Kaluyahawi Antone, a young emerging graphic artist from Oneida of the Thames and Six Nations of the Grand River. She has incorporated Haudenosaunee traditional beadwork design into the figure’s clothing, and she wears orange to honour the 215 children discovered buried at the Kamloops residential school. On her camera you will see the medicine wheel, the Mètis insignia and a small Inuit inukshuk, showing the world how we are now telling our own stories on our own terms.
