2024 Indigenous Scholarship – Deadline October 26, 2024 

I am pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the CMG’s Scholarship for Indigenous Students registered in a media program.  

The scholarship will be renewable each year until the degree is received by the recipient if they successfully complete all their classes, and will cover the cost of tuition, up to $10,000 per year for a maximum of 4 years.  

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen and a member of an indigenous community. 

To apply, candidates must provide: 

  • Two (2) written, recorded, or video referral from an Indigenous elder or leader outlining why the candidate should receive the scholarship. The referral may be submitted in French, English, or in an Indigenous language.  
  • A written, oral or video submission in French or in English outlining why the candidate wishes to pursue a degree in media studies and how they intend to use this education.  
  • To apply, we ask that candidates email the above materials to president@cmg.ca by the deadline of October 26 11:59 PM EST 

Once selected, the successful candidate must provide: 

  • Proof of acceptance in a media program  
  • Proof of tuition cost  
  •  Transcript following each session  
  • A copy of final degree certification  

The selection committee for this scholarship will comprise myself as the CMG President, the APTN Branch President and a CBC Branch representative.
