The Canadian Media Guild (CMG), CWA Local 30213, will be sending delegates to the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Convention, taking place August 11–12 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. These delegates will also participate in the TNG-CWA Sector Conference, held at the same location on August 8-9. Sunday August 10 will be a free day.
These events are an opportunity to learn more about our international union and to share ideas and information with fellow media and other workers.
To be a delegate you must have signed your CMG membership card, be available to travel to the United States from August 10-12, 2025 and submit this nomination form by 4 p.m. ET June 16, 2025.
If the CMG receives more nominations than there are delegate positions, a membership-wide vote will take place from 9 a.m. ET June 18 to 3 p.m. ET June 20.
Once the results of the elections are official, the delegates will be selected as follows:
Step one: The nominee from each Branch with the most votes will be selected.
Step two: If there are more delegates than our allocated number after step one, the candidate with the most votes will be delegate number one, the candidate with the second most votes will be delegate number two, and so on until all delegate spots are filled.
Step three: If delegate spots remain after step one, the next spot will be filled by the candidate with the most votes from all Branches, and so on until all positions are filled.
Please note: Vaccination, health related travel matters and immigration requirements to travel to the United States for these conventions are the sole responsibility of each delegate. The Government of Canada offers United States Travel Advice.
