CBC/Radio-Canada and the negotiating committee of the Canadian Media Guild (CMG) are pleased to announce that a 5 year tentative agreement has been reached after an intense round of negotiations, with the support of Warren Edmondson, late Friday, February 15th.
Throughout discussions, the atmosphere around the bargaining table was respectful and constructive. Both the public broadcaster and the CMG were actively committed to moving the talks forward. Similar to past negotiations, the parties relied on an interest-based approach throughout the bargaining process that has worked to the benefit of both parties. This approach encouraged cooperation, respect, transparency and fact-based decisions to address issues.
The agreement will be submitted to CMG members for ratification and the details of the agreement will be made available soon.
