Submissions for the Dalton Camp Award

Submissions for the Dalton Camp Award 2026 are now open. The deadline to enter is January 5, 2026, at 8 p.m. EST. The Dalton Camp Award is a $10,000 prize for the best essay on the link between media and democracy, presented annually by Friends of Canadian Media. They launched the award in 2002 to honour the memory of Dalton Camp, a distinguished commentator on Canadian public affairs. Eligible essays written in English up to 2,000 words in length are judged anonymously on both subject matter and strength of written expression. Both recently published and unpublished essays may be submitted.
