Media worker forum – Saturday, november 14

CWA-POSTER-SMALIf you are in Toronto, you are invited to the Media Workers Forum at Ryerson on November 14 organized by CWA Canada Associate Members. The event is free and is for students, volunteers and precarious media workers.

The day will include a discussion of the role of journalism schools, unions and employers in creating non-exploitative internships; a report back from the recent digital media workers organizing conference that happened in Kentucky; a round of speed mentorships and critiques; plus free lunch and a social with drinks and snacks.

 This is a day of training, discussion and networking for student, volunteer, and precarious media workers. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the day.

1:00 – Lunch and Speed Critiques/Mentorships
3:00 – Workshop: How to Build a Sustainable Media Career

4:10 – Presentation: Report back from Media Workers Unite conference
5:00 – Social! Enjoy some snacks and a drink on us
