CMG Freelance invites all freelance members, and members who are temporary employees at any branch, to put their work profile and portfolio online in our new CMG Freelancer Directory at http://cmgfreelance.ca/en/for-freelance-members/.
If you know of freelancers or temps in your department and can spread the word to them about this service, please do so by passing this e-mail along to them.
The directory is a key new service for CMG members who are seeking self-employed and temporary contract work, at a CMG-represented workplace or elsewhere. It provides an online space to profile skills and expertise, as well as upload work samples.
We invite and encourage you to submit your profile as quickly as possible. Once we have a critical mass of member profiles completed, the directory will go live and serve as a place to which we can refer potential clients and employers looking for professional, union-supported workers.
It’s our goal to help our freelance members achieve sustainable work, to promote union values of safe jobs, fair and equitable relationships, and to increase the quality of our professions.
The union has supports in place to help members prepare professional-quality profiles that will be competitive in today’s labour market.
