CMG president Lise Lareau, and friends, now have a blog on the state of the media industry called -30-. The idea is to spark discussion, especially among media workers, about what is going on in our industry, and to report on developments that often don’t get good coverage in our own media outlets. It’s no secret that reporters have a hard time covering their own industry. Beyond feeling the unease of covering a topic that is very close to home, when it comes to media stories they also have to deal with enhanced interest from the executive suites. It’s a bad dynamic.

The blog provides a running commentary, and important information, about what is going on. It’s an excellent resource if you’re doing a story on the media industry.
