What to do if you receive a redundancy notice

This week, CBC managers are handing out notices to employees whose jobs are being made redundant. If you receive a notice, you will be given time to meet with union representatives to begin to discuss the next steps.

Remember that a redundancy notice is *not* a layoff notice. The process now begins to find you suitable work in a vacancy somewhere else at CBC or to examine the possibility of bumping a more junior employee in a job for which you are qualified. You will be given some time and some pointers to put together a list of your skills and job experiences.

Remember to check your seniority date at HR @ myfingertips. If you think it is wrong, get in touch with human resources as soon as possible with the details.

If you have any questions or concerns, talk to one of the Guild representatives in your workplace who have been trained to work through this difficult downsizing process. You are not alone. You can also write to
info@cmg.ca or call 416-591-5333 or 1-800-465-4149.
