Your bargaining committee spent today reviewing Shaw’s offer to settle the contract and exploring our options. Since Monday afternoon, we’ve gotten the message from you that the key priorities for this round of negotiations remain what they have been since the beginning:

* Wages in line with the industry
* Fair treatment on pension
* Creation of job descriptions
* Maintaining our paid personal days

The management offer does not deliver on any of these priorities (see our previous update: http://www.cmg.ca/newsresults.asp?ID=1605&SubjectID=103&BranchID=13). Although management cancelled today’s scheduled session, we have informed them that we are prepared to meet to discuss solutions.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support. We know this is a stressful time and we hope to reach a fair settlement soon.
