Your Guild at Shaw Media is opening a call for nominations for Branch President. As you know, Chris Beesley resigned as president to take a position elsewhere, and in accordance with our by-laws, we must hold an election for an Interim President to step in until Guild-wide elections are held this fall. Therefore, we are opening nominations today and will close the nominations at our General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, May 1.

If you are interested, please fill out the nomination form, have two colleagues sign as your nominators, and return the form to the Guild’s National Office no later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Nominations will officially close at our membership meeting.

We will be holding our General Membership Meeting at St Andrew’s United Church (117 Bloor Street East, right behind Shaw Media) in their meeting room. We will have two sessions: one at 12 noon and the other at 5 p.m. Come on out and find out what your union has been up to at Shaw and elsewhere, and if you have any issues that you would like us to address, bring those too. Beverages and light refreshments will be served.
