CMG to review changes within Revenue Group with CBC management

Revenue Group management recently met with employees to discuss the plan for the restructuring. Issues such as a reduction in staff, job classifications, pay and jurisdiction between the bargaining units were discussed. These are all issues covered by the collective agreement.

Up until now, despite several requests from CMG for consultation, the union was largely kept in the dark about the plans.  We do not believe this conduct is in compliance with the spirit and intent of our collective agreement nor is it consistent with the relationship that we are working hard to build and maintain between the union and CBC.

We met with senior management last week to once again raise our concerns about the lack of information and the importance of consultation. Jean Mongeau, the newly appointed General Manager and Chief Revenue Officer – Management in the Revenue Group has offered to meet in the coming days with Guild representatives to provide an update.

In the meantime, CBC has announced that nobody in Revenue Group will be getting redundancy notices (tomorrow) Wednesday. Any staff reductions will be announced at a later day.

We will keep you informed of any developments.
